Gingerbread Mocktail
Tis the season to celebrate some yummy gingerbread!
This mocktail is rich and creamy and super easy to make. You might in fact, have everything you already need right in your cupboard.
Because I don’t like to use a lot of sugar in my recipes, I often depend on juice to sweeten things. Here, I’ve added orange juice to the oat milk creamer, which works fine, but if you are using whole milk (dairy as opposed to non-dairy), the acid in the orange juice will curdle the milk and does not make an appetizing drink. If that is the case, I recommend eliminating the orange juice all together and just adding more sweetener (honey) to the drink to make up for the sweetness brought by the OJ. Another option if you really like that hint of orange is to add a drop of orange extract. I feel like most people don’t have orange extract on hand, and a little goes a long way. It’s a tricky ingredient to use and can go wrong very quickly, so my best advice is to just use another teaspoon of honey.
The more you blend it, the frothier it will get, so blend away to the desired fluffiness!
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup oat milk creamer
- 2 Tablespoons of orange juice (see notes above so your milk doesn’t curdle)
- 1-2 teaspoons honey
- 1/8 teaspoon molasses
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
Directions:
- Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend to desired frothiness. (Add the molasses last so it doesn’t sit at the bottom of the blender and incorporates into the drink)
Enjoy!
