Up Your Pita Game

I love pita bread. You can use it as a “pocket” and fill it with a delicious, protein filled recipe like my Waldorf Chickpea Salad which ups the ante on chickpea salads by adding grapes and apples.
It’s also great as the base for my Flatbread Fall Pizza with Walnut “Cheese” Sauce which makes this yummy and “a cut above the usual pizza “easy to make.
And, of course, it’s a must have to eat with Carrot Ginger Hummus
So how do you make such a versatile bread even better? Simple. You brush on some olive oil and sprinkle it with spices or, if you want to really go all out, you need to make my Greek Marinade and brush it on before warming it up in the oven. It is over the top good.
You will be adding this upgraded pita into your rotation and it will soon become a staple.
Ingredients:
- pita bread

- Olive oil
- Dried oregano
- Salt
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350
- Brush the pita with the olive oil (or dressing of choice like my Greek Marinade)

- Sprinkle lightly with salt and oregano.

- Put pita on baking pan and put on lower rack of oven. Bake for 5-8 minutes, depending on how “crispy” of soft you want it.
- Transfer to cutting board, cut and serve immediately.

Enjoy!
